*Eucallia* Guérin-Méneville, 1844 is a monotypic tiger beetle genus of the Neotropical forest, known from Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela. Its single species inhabits forest floor substrates of bare clay-loam and sandy clay. Small and metallic, *Eucallia* is a nocturnal denizen of lowland tropical forest.

Diagnosis

DIAGNOSIS — *Eucallia* Guérin-Méneville, 1844. Monotypic; body small, 14–22 mm, elongate-compact, depressed; coloration metallic; wings fully developed; labrum transverse; eyes medium. Nocturnal; forest floor habitat on bare clay-loam or sandy clay substrates. Distinguished from all other Iresina by aedeagal morphology [Moravec, 2020]. No confusion genera recorded.

Etymology

From Greek *eu-* (well, beautiful) + *kallos* (beauty) — "of fine beauty".
