Genus
Guineica
2 species
*Guineica* Rivalier, 1963 is a monotypic genus of small metallic tiger beetles found in West Africa, inhabiting open wet ground on compacted laterite, clay-pan, and sandy substrates. Adults are diurnal hunters, active on exposed soil surfaces typical of sub-Saharan open landscapes. Among the least-collected Afrotropical Cicindelina, *Guineica* remains poorly known and merits fresh study of the type material.
Diagnosis
DIAGNOSIS — *Guineica* Rivalier, 1963. Body small, ~12 mm; cylindrical, elongate; metallic coloration. Fully winged; eyes medium; labrum transverse. Diurnal; associated with open wet ground on compacted laterite, clay-pan, or sandy substrate in West Africa. No confusion genera recorded within Afrotropical Cicindelina. Definitive diagnosis requires verification against type material of *G. longicollis* (Bates, 1886).
