*Paraphysodeutera* is a monotypic genus of tiger beetles endemic to Madagascar, known from a single species inhabiting forest floors and woodland clearings. These small metallic beetles, roughly 11 mm in body length, are among the most geographically restricted members of the Cicindelinae.

Diagnosis

DIAGNOSIS — *Paraphysodeutera* Moravec, 2002. Body 10–12 mm, oval, metallic. Fully winged. Labrum transverse. Eyes medium. Allied to *Physodeutera*; distinguished by aedeagal morphology. Monotypic; Madagascar endemic. No autapomorphies recorded at tribe level in current matrix.

Etymology

From Greek *pará* (alongside) + Physodeutera — "alongside Physodeutera".
