This diagnosis describes the genus Caledonica, not the individual species. Species-level characters are not yet recorded.
DIAGNOSIS — *Caledonica* Chaudoir, 1860 Body medium (9–14 mm), elongate-cursorial habitus, somewhat more robust than *Caledonomorpha*. Head wider than pronotum; eyewith large, protuberant.
Similar taxa: Resembles *Abroscelis*, *Antennaria*, *Archidela*
Etymology
From Latin *Caledonia* (the Roman name for Scotland; later applied to New Caledonia in the Pacific where this endemic genus lives).
