DIAGNOSIS — *Callytron* Gistel, 1848 Body small to medium (8–13 mm), elongate-cursorial habitus. Head wider than pronotum; eyes very large, strongly protuberant — open-substrate adaptation.
Similar taxa: Resembles *Abroscelis*, *Antennaria*, *Apteroessa*
Etymology
From Greek *kallytron* (a broom, brush) — referring to setose mouth-parts or pronotum.
