DIAGNOSIS — Lophyra Motschulsky, 1859 Body 10–17 mm, elongate Palearctic–Afrotropical–Oriental Cicindelini. Ground color typically metallic green or brown with white maculation.

Etymology
From Greek *lóphos* (crest, mane) — referring to crest-like dorsal markings or setation.
