This diagnosis describes the genus Megacephala, not the individual species. Species-level characters are not yet recorded.

DIAGNOSIS — Megacephala Latreille, 1802 Body 15–25 mm, robust Megacephalini with markedly enlarged head. Ground color bright metallic (green, gold, blue).

Etymology

From Greek *mégas* (big, large) + *kephalḗ* (head) — referring to the conspicuously broadened head wider than the pronotum.
