Diagnosis & identification
Taenidia group. Genae glabrous. Elytra variable width posteriorly; shoulder spot never separated; elytral markings very variable (narrow to almost wholly white in forma albonubila). Aedeagus medianlobus evenly short (Abb.21). Central Palearctic: S Ukraine to W China.
Similar taxa: Resembles *Apterodela*, *Calochroa*, *Calomera*
Etymology
From Greek *kephalḗ* (head) + suffix -ota — "head-bearing" or "head-prominent".
