DIAGNOSIS — Oxycheila Dejean, 1825 Body medium, robust Neotropical Oxycheilini. Amphibious, associated with river rocks and wet margins.

Similar taxa: Resembles *Cheiloxya*, *Pseudoxycheila*

Etymology

From Greek *oxýs* (sharp, acute) + χεῖλος (lip) — referring to acute/sharp labrum.

Active September–March (peak Oct–Dec)
